What is diesel engine?

Working of Diesel Engine

The fuel burns and generates power, pushing the piston down.
In the exhaust stroke, the exhaust valve opens, and the piston pushes the exhaust gases out of the combustion chamber and into the exhaust system. The power generated by the engine is transmitted to a crankshaft, which converts the linear motion of the pistons into rotary motion. This rotary motion is then used to power a generator, pump, or other mechanical devices. Diesel engines are known for their high efficiency and durability. Advantages and Disadvantages of Diesel Engine
